The transition form elementary to middle school can be a very difficult adjustment for our students! Following a few of these tips can really help ease any stress or anxiety related to new middle school responsibilities, increase in homework, or transition to a new environment.
Get enough sleep- MS students should get around 6-8 hours of rest a night.
Eat right- Eating healthy, balanced meals gives your body what it needs to function at top levels.
Do your homework- Doing your homework every night sets a routine and ensures it is finished before class.
Pay attention in class-If you're not, how will you know what to do outside of it?
Get involved- You're only in middle school once! Use this time to find out what you like or don't like to do!
6. Think positive- YOU CAN DO IT!
7. Ask for help- All staff members are here to help. If you have any questions, find an adult. We can't help if we don't know you need help. (You can always email us!)
8. Stay organized- A little bit goes a LONG WAY. Use a planner to write things down, make sure papers and assignments have their own place. Can you imagine doing all that work and losing it?
9. Make goals- Give yourself something that you want to attain by the end of the marking term. Then, make a plan and stick with it to get there.
10. Take risks- Middle school is all about finding out who you are and your place in the world, make the best of it!
