This is the first year we have attempted to combine multiple sensor feeds to control our autonomous portions of the competition. Students has advanced in use of sensors and coding ability greatly as the year as progressed.
The video shown here is just one of many test runs accomplished by the team in order to tune and refine the capabilities of the robot. Note the self correcting actions the robot take in regards to the ball on the floor and the goal.
Our Autonomous programming uses the following to regulate the robot's actions:
PD loop for turns using inertial sensor
PID loop for all driving actions using motor encoders
2 Cameras to auto adjust to balls and goals
2 distance sensors
The team has made leaps in programming autonomous this year. They have incorporated 2 cameras, inertial and LIDAR sensors as well as PID loop controlling to help the robot navigate the field.
