History of Lavender Grad

The first lavender graduation ceremony was held at the University of Michigan in 1995 with only 3 graduates. Today over 200 colleges have Lavender Graduation as a specific ceremony to honor lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and ally students and to acknowledge their achievements and contributions to their University. This is the first ever Lavender Graduation Celebration for the New School!
