After graduating in philosophy in Ukraine, I came to the New School for Social Research in 2019 to write a dissertation in political theory.
This course is the third one I am teaching at the New School on the extensive subject of the Soviet Union and its legacies.

I started my academic journey as a Law undergrad in Brazil, where I am originally from, and I am currently a MA student at NSSR.
My experience has spanned from human rights to screenwriting and film production, and more recently I have focused on the study of queer collective memory and how different mediums tackle this topic.

I am a painter and writer who uses collage to examine technological posthumanism from the perspective of speculative fiction.
I did my undergrad at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in Studio Arts and Art History, and am currently in the final semester of my Fine Arts MFA at Parsons.

Vanessa Dos Santos is a Mozambican screenwriter and photographer by trade, based in Brooklyn, NY. She is in her second year of the Creative Writing MFA program at The New School with a concentration in fiction. Her Bachelor’s degree was in screenwriting and producing. Since then, she has worked on numerous productions for brands such as Johnnie Walker, and Nike and with publications such as Vogue and Vox Media. She is currently developing an animated feature with the production company Nlite Media.
