This page is dedicated to tools that can help you imagine the balance of synchronous activities (face to face) and asynchronous activities (happening in the students own time outside of scheduled class time). Online teaching requires that we rethink the things that are considered "instruction" and "student participation", it requires that we consider learning modes that take advantage of a digital environment and don't lead to zoom fatigue.
The diagrams on this page, developed by Parsons faculty John Roach and Anette Millington, are only models, they cannot capture the nuances and variety of all the courses across Parsons. We hope however that they offer a starting point as you rethink the weekly engagement with your students.
