Did you know materials for buildings and textiles can be made from plants? Join Healthy Materials Lab to explore innovative biobased materials. Guess which plants are used to make a material to win a prize! 

6TH FLOOR 2 west 13th street

Triangles! Triangles! Modular Wood Dome (Room 602)
Sawing, sanding, cutting, and connecting, you will make triangles out of wood dowels, vinyl tubing, and zip ties. These triangles will combine to make hexagons that combine to make a dome! Come make a singular triangle with Parsons faculty Natalia Zubko and Reade Bryan, or stay to finish the full hexagonal or pentagonal dome.

Hand-Sewing Hats (Room 603)
Join us to create your own custom hats with an array of fun sewing materials! Parsons faculty members Wennie Huang and Carolina Obregon will be around to help you make some exceptional headgear for the new year.

Stop Motion Mayhem! Sculpting in Time  (Room 802)
Skip, jump, and roll into our animation playground! Collaborate to convert our entire room into an amorphous sculpture that we capture as a dynamic stop motion animation. Using your body and inanimate objects, we will experiment with  balance, structure, and rhythm to explore frame-by-frame transformation. 

Memory Mosaic (Room 803)
Come draw and collage your memories of home into a collaborative community mosaic! Get making with Parsons faculty Ken Millington and Tim Campbell to creatively respond to prompts exploring images of where you are from. Weave your own path into our collective project as you get to know your new cohort.

DIY Photo Booth (Room 804)
Photo Projections and Green Screens, Oh My! Stop by this DIY photography studio space to create your own photo backdrop, group photo and portraits using digital cameras, lighting, and creative software! Join Parsons Faculty to get familiar with photography equipment and effects you may experience in First Year and beyond.
