There were a good deal of moving parts to coordinate, certainly the PBL, but the FVR as well, vocabulary teaching, assessments of vocabulary learned, five hours of a mini-series, another two hour movie, and two manga, the assigned reading for this reading class. My effort (in blue) was meant to wane as the efforts of the students ramped up through their work on their websites. Vocabulary study, and intensive reading (Manga) are held steady. The mini-series and the manga mirror the intensive reading. The vocabulary study became individualized. Extensive reading was to be divided between FVR and reading for the research project.
