Students connect to another 3rd grade classroom in NYS
Grade 3

Students practiced following directions, reading and writing skills as well as collaborating, speaking, and listening skills through an interactive video conferencing project. Our third graders were paired with a third grade class in East Aurora. Each class created a monster and wrote a description of/instructions for their own class monster. We shared the instructions via email. Each class then recreated their partner class’s monster based only on the written description/instructions. We connected via videoconference to compare their recreated monsters with the original monsters, sharing similarities and differences. We had the opportunity to learn a little about their class and each class got to ask and answer questions.
