Net Access Summary & Quick Lookup
The Net Access Summary shows the date and duration of student & parent visits to Parent Portal.Quick Lookup shows all student grades, in all classes. This is the same view available in Parent Portal.Retrieving Grades and Assignments After Schedule Changes
For example, Joe dropped English 9 with Mr. Teacher1 , and is entering English 9 with Mrs.Teacher2. How does Mrs. Teacher2 view Mr. Teacher1’s assignments and grades? Or, a student transferred from one section of Mr. Teacher1 to another section with Mr. Teacher1. How does Mr. Teacher1 retrieve the former assignments and grades?Grades from the original class are available in the Quick Lookup section by following these directions.
- Grades from the student's original class will need to be entered into the gradebook for the new class manually. Unfortunately, there is no way for the Guidance office or Technology office to transfer these grades. This can only be completed by the teacher who currently has the student on their roster.
- If the student has moved to a different section or teacher for the same course, the teacher will need to add the averages from previous quarters to the gradebook, in order for the student's year long average to be accurate. (So if a student switches from my 1A Algebra to my 3B Algebra during the 3rd quarter, I will need to enter their quarter 1 and quarter 2 averages into my 3B gradebook, otherwise their year long average will only reflect their work since 3rd quarter. It is not necessary to enter all of the individual assignments from those previous quarters. )
- Remember: PowerSchool and Google Classroom do not communicate at all. You will need to remove the student from the original Classroom (be sure you have copied all grades over to PowerSchool and returned all completed assignments first) and add them to the Classroom for the new class. Both the original teacher and the student will retain a copy of all work done in Classroom in Google Drive.
