Meet Mrs. Anderson
I have been teaching in New Paltz since 2013. During my time in New Paltz I have worked as the special education co-teacher for a fourth grade, taught during the extended school year as a special education teacher and I currently teach reading. Before becoming a reading teacher I worked as a special education teacher for four years and home instructor.
I graduated from Beacon High School in 2007, then I went to Dutchess Community College and received an Associates' degree. From there I attended Mount Saint Mary College for my Bachelors in English and certification in Elementary and Special Education Education. After that, I received my Masters' in Literacy from SUNY New Paltz.
When I was in high school I played softball, volleyball and participated in cheerleading. I also played the flute for seven years. I met my husband in high school and we were married in 2013. We still live in Beacon with our six-year-old son Matthew, our three-year-old daughter Charlotte, our three dogs Duke,Penny Lane and Piper.
