Jazz Band is for students who have received their Black Belt or higher in their school instrument lessons. Jazz Band meets on Friday at 7:40-8:30AM. Students will be working on 3-4 jazz pieces to be played in our Jazz Fest April 22nd as well as the Orchestra/3rd Grade Chorus/Jazz band concert on May 21st.
Sign ups are due by Monday January 12th and our first rehearsal will be Friday January 17th.

My love of jazz music stems from listening to classic Jazz voices such as Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, and Ella Fitzgerald (any relation Mr. Fitz?) as well as famous jazz musicians like Miles Davis and Duke Ellington. I always say, 'There's nothing like a rich and velvety jazz standard!' I cannot wait to get started on the Jazz Band season with Sarah Noble! See you soon."

Once we begin learning our music, the videos listed below are for extra practice and to play along. You can slow down the speed in the settings area so it is not too fast when you're just starting out. To start, try .75 speed and practice counting your measures! Then each time you practice you can increase the speed by a little bit until you are up to tempo.
