ACCOUNTS MANAGEMENT
The Accounts Portal is a self-service tool for managing accounts. It can be used to:
Request new accounts
Manage passwords
Add Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Manage SSH keys
For any additional access or permissions, the Request Form is required.
TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION (2FA)
Two-Factor Authentication is now mandatory for all NMC accounts. We support a wide range of authenticator applications, including Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile, Yubico Authenticator, and Microsoft Authenticator.

Login
SSH will prompt for two factors. For the “First Factor”, enter a password. For the "Second Factor”, enter the One-Time Password generated by the authentication application.
NMC encourages users to add SSH public keys to their account. This will allow passwordless login and will sync across all joined clients. We highly recommend to password-protect keys.
Password Only - For password only prompts, enter Password + One-Time Password
If you have a unique circumstance that prevents you from enabling 2FA, you can request an exception by contacting the NMC Helpdesk. Please be aware that all exceptions require additional approval.
PASSWORD REQUIREMENTS
All passwords must meet the following requirements:
Length: at least 8 characters long
Complexity: include four of the following character types:
Uppercase letters (A-Z)
Lowercase letters (a-z)
Numbers (0-9)
Special characters (e.g., !@#$%^&*)
Uniqueness: CANNOT be one of 4 previous passwords
