Meet The Teachers

Mrs.Zobeck

Hello, Newman families and students. I’m excited to be teaching 5th grade this year as a Knight! Over the past 14 years, I’ve taught a variety of grades and subjects, including 6th grade, PK–8 special education, kindergarten, and preschool.

My husband and I have two wonderful kids — a 12-year-old son and a 9-year-old daughter — and we all love spending time on our farm with our two playful puppies. As a family, we enjoy going out to the movies, exploring nature and taking trips to Wisconsin Dells, our favorite getaway spot! 

One of the most important values in my life is my relationship with God,  This led me to Newman. The Holy Spirit is present throughout the school in  prayer, lessons, mass and everyday actions filling the school with warmth and purpose. 

I look forward to providing a quality education in a caring and faith-filled classroom where every student can grow academically, socially, and spiritually. It’s going to be a great year

Ms. Richter

Welcome to 5th grade, I'm so happy you are here! My name is Jenna Richter and I've accomplished three years of teaching here at Newman. I went to high school at Bishop Garrigan in Algona, IA and decided to go and get my music degree from Briar Cliff University. After graduation, I decided that I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with my life but really enjoyed spending every extra minute with my eight nieces and nephews. Eventually, I decided to go back and get my teaching degree at Buena Vista online while working full time at the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa. I currently live in Mason City with my dog Haru! I also have a class hamster that everyone falls in love with, her name is Orla! The reason that I chose to come and teach at Newman was because I had two of my nieces who attended school here, their names are Leah and Taylor who are twins! 

In my free time, I love volunteering, reading, going on walks and taking Haru to the dog park, playing video games, listening to music (especially anything Kpop!), traveling, playing pickleball and spending time with my family and friends! I love to spend my summers at camp in Boone as I am the Assistant Camp Director at Camp Sacajawea!
