This course explores the design, construction, relationship of parts, motion, movement, and programming of robots. Students will build different types of robots using Lego Mindstorms NXT Robotic Kit to solve various challenges and missions. Each robot will be designed and built using a combination of different sensors, actuators, gearing systems, wheels and tracks. Students will learn basic robotic programming language to program their robot to move, stop, backup, turn, rotate, zigzag, repeat, avoid, and react to sound and light to accomplish each mission. Some challenges include the CAN- CAN Challenge, the hill climb challenge, and the landmine challenge.
