Landus Cooperative "Excellence in Agriculture" Scholarship - Available to high school seniors pursuing a career in agriculture, life sciences, or an ag-related field. Applicant and/or parent must be a voting member, in good standing, of Landus. Applicant must have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale through his/her junior year.
Applications must be postmarked or submitted by 2-27-26.
AgState Scholarship - Available to Newell-Fonda seniors pursuing a degree in Agriculture. Preference given to students of AgState Class A Members. Applications must be signed and submitted electronically by 2-28-26.
Knights of Columbus Youth Scholarship - Open to all Catholic Newell-Fonda High School Seniors, OLGC seniors, and senior sons & daughters of the Fonda Knights of Columbus members. Student must attend an accredited college or trade school, or the military following their graduation from high school. Applications can be turned into Mrs. Lockrem. Application deadline is 3-11-26.
NEW Cooperative Foundation Scholarship - Available to high school seniors pursuing a career in agriculture. Must be a current member or dependent of a member of NEW Cooperative. Application deadline is 3-13-26.
The Bob Wallentine Memorial Scholarship - Applicant must be a NEW Cooperative member, dependent of a NEW Cooperative member, or a dependent of a full-time NEW Cooperative employee at the time of application. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student pursuing an Agricultural Business degree at an accredited four-year university. High school seniors, college freshmen, sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply. Application deadline is 3-13-26.
Cornelius & Dolores Wabeke Bright Future Award - Available to any Newell-Fonda senior and not limited to students choosing to go to college, trade school, or the military. Students must fulfill the Newell-Fonda graduation requirements. Application deadline is 3-26-26.
Buena Vista Regional Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship. - Available to graduating seniors that attend a high school within a 40 mile radius of BVRMC and plan to pursue a health related field of educational study.
Application deadline is 3-31-26.
Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative Community Commitment Scholarship. - Available to dependents of Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative members. Students must attend college full-time in the fall of 2026. Students may attend a two-year or four-year college or university or vocational/technical school. Scholarships will be awarded by random drawing at the annual meeting on April 11th. ALL seniors in attendance will be awarded either a $2000, $1000, or $750 scholarship. Submit the RSVP to reserve your seat by 4-3-26.
Northwest Iowa Law Enforcement Scholarship - Available to students in Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Pocahontas, and Sac counties planning to enter the law enforcement/criminal justice field. Application deadline is 4-3-26.
The Harold Salton Scholarship - Available to seniors from area schools. Masonic connection will take precedence, but is not required. All students are encouraged to apply. Application deadline is 4-4-26.
Patricia (Bodholdt) Petty and Dr. Virgil Petty DVM Fine Arts Scholarship - Available to Newell-Fonda seniors who plan to enroll in a Fine Arts program at a college/university in Iowa. Fine Arts programs include, but are not limited to: Music, Art, Performing Arts, Speech Education, etc. (Note: If there are no students attending Iowa institutions, out-of-state institutions will be considered.).

Hemmingsen Student Assistance Trust - Available to Newell-Fonda High School Seniors planning to enroll in a post-secondary education program. Minimum GPA of 2.75 at the end of the 1st semester of the senior year is required. Application deadline is 4-8-26.
Newell Trust Scholarship - Available to seniors residing in the Newell-Fonda school district. Must attend a 4-year University or College. Application deadline is 4-8-26.
Fonda 5K Walk/Run Childhood Cancer & Donate Life Awareness Scholarship - In Memory of Carson Chase and Rod Wells and in honor of Lauren (Devereaux) Wienhold. Available to one Newell-Fonda High School Senior who will be enrolled in an educational program beyond high school. Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 required.

Professional Educators of Newell-Fonda Senior Scholarship - Open to all seniors! Application deadline is 4-8-26.
Grace Wessendorf Memorial Scholarship - Available to seniors who plan to enroll full-time in a two-year or four year college or university for music, journalism, or business. Application deadline is 4-8-26.
Carol Williams Memorial Scholarship - Available to one student planning to enroll in a 2 or 4-year accredited Health Science program at a college or university. Student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. Application deadline is 4-8-26.
Newell-Fonda Education Foundation Scholarship - Available to Newell-Fonda High School seniors enrolled in an accredited program. Minimum GPA of 3.25 by end of the 1st semester of senior year. Application deadline is 4-8-26.
Kier Family $2000 Scholarship - Available to graduating seniors attending either a 2 or 4 year college with an agriculture or ag engineering major. Application deadline is 4-8-26.
Cole-Hadenfeldt Foundation Scholarship - Available to seniors and recent graduates of the following schools: Alta-Aurelia, Newell-Fonda, Ridgeview, Sioux Central, Storm Lake Public, and St. Mary's. Applicant must be attending a trade school, community college or 4-year college no later than Sept. 30, 2026 and have a 2.5 GPA or higher during their current academic year. Application must be received by noon on 4-10-26.
John Wells Agricultural Scholarship - Available to Newell-Fonda seniors planning to study Agriculture or Ag Business in a 2 or 4 year accredited agricultural program. Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75. Application deadline is 4-10-26.
Sandy Wells Nursing Scholarship - Available to Newell-Fonda seniors planning to enroll in 2 or 4 year accredited nursing program. Minimum cumulative GPA is 3.0. Application deadline is 4-10-26.
NW Iowa League of Cities – High School Senior Scholarships - Available to High school seniors in Northwest Iowa League member communities pursuing post-secondary education or training in fields that may lead to city government careers—like public administration, water/wastewater, law enforcement, firefighting, EMS, city planning, public engineering, and more. Application Deadline: 4-15-26.
Loring Hospital Auxiliary - Available to graduating seniors who reside in Sac Co. or within the Loring Hospital service area. Applicants must be entering or furthering education in a health care field (not including CNA). Applications must be mailed and are due 4-15-26.
State and National Scholarships
Beta Sigma PSI Scholarships - Available to men attending Iowa State University. Applications can be found online. Application deadlines vary starting Feb 1st through July 1st, 2026.
Horatio Alger Association Scholarships -
Be enrolled full time as a high school junior in the United States
Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States
Demonstrate financial need ($100,000 or lower household income)
Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0
Be a United States citizen

Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation Scholarship - Available to seniors committed to the pursuit of automotive-related studies, such as technician training, body shop/collision repair, diesel, new vehicle sales, parts sales, accounting, or business administration. Application deadline is 3-1-26.
The Parent in Heaven (PH) Balance Scholarship is intended for a high school senior who, at any time in his/her life, has lost a parent or legal guardian and forever feels that void. Students will be selected from schools within all six IRSPA Districts. Qualifying students may plan on attending a four-year college, a community college, or a technical school with plans to earn a degree or diploma for their desired field of study. The $1000 scholarship is payable to the school after the successful completion of the first semester and continued enrollment for the second semester. Application deadline is 3-1-26.
Iowa State Rifle & Pistol Association Scholarship - Available to high school seniors that are currently enrolled in a team or club that is participating in Rifle, Pistol, Air Rifle, or Shotgun competitions. high school seniors much currently compete in marksmanship competitions. Applicants much pursue post-secondary education during the upcoming school year. They must have a 3.0 GPA and plan to continue to excel in rifle, air rifle, pistol, or shotgun team activities. Application deadline is 3-1-26.
Iowa Ducks Unlimited Grumpy Goldeneye Scholarship - They are looking for an Iowa Senior who has made a commitment to conservation in Iowa. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.8. Application deadline is 3-1-26.
Citizens Community Credit Union Scholarship - Available to graduating seniors who are members of Citizens Community Credit Union. Application deadline is 3-2-26.
Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Iowa Scholarships - Available to high school seniors who will graduate from a public high school in Iowa and plan to attend an accredited two- or four-year postsecondary institution. Applicants need not have a Masonic connection. The principal criterion is service to school and community with special emphasis upon leadership rolse in these areas. Application deadline is 3-15-26
Pulse Life Advocates Pro-Life Scholarship - Available to High-school juniors or seniors planning to attend an accredited college or university. Selection is based of the applicant's essay response (details provided in the application). Application deadline is 3-15-26.

The Karon Brown Award - Open to seniors girls that have participated in at least one IGHSAU sanctioned sport in high school and have a 3.00 Cumulative High School GPA.
Applicants must plan on a degree in a sports-related field: athletic administration, coaching, sport management, athletic training, event operations, marketing, media relations, sports journalism, etc. Application deadline is 3-27-26.
The Iowa Restaurant Association Education Foundation (IRAEF) Scholarship Program is available for students enrolled in or accepted to a culinary arts, hospitality management or other foodservice-related post-secondary program. Preference is given to Iowa residents who are current graduating ProStart students and ProStart alumni. Application deadline is 3-27-26.
SFM Foundation Scholarship - To be eligible for a scholarship, you must:
Be the natural, adopted, step-child or full dependent of a worker injured or killed in a work-related accident during the course and scope of employment with an employer based in Minnesota or Iowa and entitled to receive benefits under the Minnesota Workers’ Compensation Act, Iowa Workers’ Compensation Act or other comparable benefit program exclusive to work-related injuries.
Be a Minnesota or Iowa resident between the ages of 16 and 27 at the time of the application.
Be a citizen of the United States or a lawful permanent resident.

Ann Griffel Scholarship: Available to Iowa high school senior girls with experience or background in golf who intend to further their education at an Iowa institution of higher learning, whether a college, university or trade school. Application deadline is 3-31-26.
Herman Sani Scholarship: Any graduating high school senior and resident of the State of Iowa with experience or background in golf is eligible to apply. Amount: $8,000 total ($2,000 a year for four consecutive years). Application deadline is 3-31-26.
Ag Coop Safety Leaders of Iowa Scholarship in Memory of Mark Hambleton - Open to high school students looking to further their career in an Agriculture or Safety related field and planning to attend college, university, or trade school during the upcoming school year.

**Juniors** The Herbert Hoover Uncommon Student Award is a $10,000 scholarship program for Iowa high school juniors. The program is designed to attract students who are motivated and community minded. The award, which honors Herbert Hoover, an Iowa native and the 31st President of the United States, identifies approximately 15 Iowa high school juniors who propose and then accomplish projects of their own design. The projects the students propose should demonstrate the values that Herbert Hoover exemplified in his life of public service.

ISL Education Lending Scholarship
Eligibility - Iowa high school students, undergraduate college students, parent or guardians or others who hold ISave 529 accounts benefiting Iowa students.
Award - 45 winners will receive a $1000 deposit to an ISave account.
Registration Date - Jan. 5th - April 3rd, 2026
The Pearl Hull Falk Scholarship - Available to students planning to attend the University of Iowa full-time, residents of Iowa, and students of a Protestant faith. Application deadline is 5-1-26.
Iowa PGA Foundation Scholarships
Charlie Burkart Scholarship - Available to any graduating high school senior residing within the boundaries of the Iowa PGA Foundation. Winners are selected on the basis of their interest and activity in golf, future contributions to the game, leadership skills/community involvement, then on their academic/professional ability and financial need. Application deadline is 6-15-26
The Women's Fairway Scholarship - Available to females pursuing a career in golf. Application deadline is 9-10-26.
The Max Shields' Scholarship - Available to individuals pursuing an education or career in golf. Application deadline is 9-10-26.
Career Advancement Scholarship - Available to individuals furthering their education toward career development and are interested in pursuing a career in the golf industry or other career requiring educational training. Application deadline is 9-10-26.
Morris Family Scholarship - Available to high school graduates interested in or planning on playing college golf. Application deadline is 6-15-26
Latinos Unidos of Iowa’s academic scholarships provides financial award to Latino students studying at Iowa colleges and universities.
Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and plan to enroll in an accredited Iowa college, university, community college, or technical/trade school. Application deadline is 6-15-26.
Future Ready Iowa Last-Dollar Scholarship.
The Last-Dollar Scholarship is available to: Students who recently completed an Iowa high school diploma, a homeschool program, or high school equivalency diploma, OR students (age 20 and older)
Enroll at least part-time in an eligible program of study
Apply for all other available state and federal grants and scholarships
Meet ongoing requirements
Have an Expected Family Contribution at or below $20,000

The Simpson Promise - Full cost of tuition available to Iowa high school graduates that plan to attend Simpson College full-time, live on campus, file the FAFSA by July 1st, and have an adjusted gross income at or below $100,000.
Criteria: To be eligible, a student must:
Be an Iowa resident enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student on our Storm Lake campus by Feb. 1. Student must reside on campus.
Have a 2.9 GPA or higher from high school.
Receive Federal Pell Grant and Iowa Tuition Grant.
Amount: For qualifying students, BVU commits to ensuring 100 percent of a student's tuition is covered. Iowa Access Grant is a last-dollar grant program offered after all other grant aid is awarded, including outside scholarships.
