The UK, as well as other countries around the world have many National Events throughout the year, these days, weeks or months are to celebrate what the UK are proud of and to also raise awareness on specific topics.

January 25th - Burns NIght- the annual celebration of the life and enduring legacy of the Scottish poet Robert Burns, is upon us.Whether you're Scottish or not, hosting or attending a Burns Supper is a lot of fun.



 February 3rd -Carrot Cake Day is celebrated on February 3rd each year in honor of one of our favorite desserts – the carrot cake. Many historians believe that the cake originated in the middle ages when sugar was expensive or scarce. While nobody knows who created the day, the earliest known carrot cake recipe can be found in a French cookbook published in 1827.

February 13th - Shrove Tuesday - Shrove Tuesday, also called Pancake Day, is the feast day before Lent starts on Ash Wednesday


February 14th Valentines day- Valentine's Day is a romantic observance celebrated in the UK and many other countries every February 14. Valentine's Day is considered a day of love.



Mothers day 10th March -The official Mother's Day began in the US and was started by the daughter of Ann Marie Jarvis- Anna Jarvis. Anna Jarvis wanted the day to be a celebration of how much mothers sacrificed for their children. She put her efforts into creating the Mother's Day tradition, after her mother's death in 1905.


Neurodiversity Celebration week- 11th March Neurodiversity Celebration Week is a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences. It aims to transform how neurodivergent individuals are perceived and supported by providing schools, universities, and organisations with the opportunity to recognise the many talents and advantages of being neurodivergent, while creating more inclusive and equitable cultures that celebrate differences and empower every individual.


Red Nose Day 15th March-Red Nose Day raises money using comedy and entertainment to help people in need all over the world. Keep reading to learn more about Red Nose Day and how you can celebrate it with your little ones this year.

World Down Syndrome Day 21st March-World Down Syndrome Day 2024 falls on Tuesday, 21st March. The third month was explicitly picked to signify the uniqueness of the triplication of the 21st chromosome. This is what causes Down syndrome.


Easter Sunday 31st March-The holiday celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which occurs after the 40-day period known as Lent. 


World Autism Awareness day 2nd April- an opportunity to celebrate the strengths and differences of those with autism.


Mental Health Awareness week-13th-19th May-During Mental Heath Awareness Week 2024, we aim to improve public understanding of mental health and will be sharing advice on some of the things that can help prevent poor mental health.



Pride Month 1st June- Pride Month takes place every year in June and is a celebration designed to recognise the influence of the LGBTQ+ community.


Thank You day 7th July- this year we're back with a twist, focusing on giving thanks to our local communities!


International Burger Day 22nd August- celebrating America's most iconic food!


Recycle Week 16th September- Recycle Week is an annual event designed to celebrate and promote the benefits of recycling. It creates opportunities for us all to implement positive change that will help protect our planet.


National Curry Week-7th October- National Curry Week is a highly anticipated event & has been running since 1998 as an excuse to revel in the nation's favourite dish; curry!


Remembrance Day 11th November-In most countries, Remembrance Day is observed on 11 November to recall the end of First World War hostilities. Hostilities ended "at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month" of 1918


Kindness Day UK 13 November -celebrated and promoted by the UK members of the World Kindness Movement. On this date the Kindness Day UK campaign's mission is to make everyone in the UK carry out an act of kindness and take a small 'pause for kindness' to value its importance.


International day of Persons with Disabilities 3rd December-The day is about promoting the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities at every level of society and development, and to raise awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities in all aspects of political, social, economic, and cultural life.



Christmas Jumper Day 12th December-This date provides an opportunity for people to showcase their festive spirit and contribute to charitable causes during the holiday season.


Christmas Day 25th December- one of the most festive Christian holidays in many countries around the world. It celebrates Jesus' birth.


Boxing Day 26th December-Over the years, Boxing Day has become a holiday that is spent with friends and family. Many will use it as a day to eat leftovers (mainly turkey sandwiches), binge-watch Christmas films and generally continue the festivities. Some households also meet with extended family to celebrate Christmas if they weren't together on 25th December.
