We ended the year in our 9th grade ELA class with a short study of Shakespeare's play Romeo & Juliet, remixed to make it engaging, playful, challenging, and fun. It was lovely to see our class community come together through creative projects and performances.
Students will benefit from engaging in sustained reading over the summer that gives their brains something different to practice than they can get from social media or news websites. Any book that they enjoy is great - including graphic novels, comics on webtoons, or audiobooks, as well.
