Mr. Cote

 Welcome to 5th grade!

Greetings! I am Mr. Cote and I am so excited to have you in my class!  In room 115, we focus heavily on building our classroom community. Each one of you will play an important role in shaping what our year looks like-let's build something wonderful!  I know we will learn a lot from each other  this year and have some fun as well! Come as you are, I look forward to getting to know YOU!

I live in New Hampshire with my wife Stacey and our sons Joshua & Elijah. Joshua just turned four. He loves books, sea creatures, and helping daddy fix anything around the house! Elijah is 16 months old. He loves playing in the dirt, jumping on the bed and daddy's pickle ball paddle. We also have 17 pets! Sorry, let me be more clear, we have 16 egg laying hens and one really old Chihuahua (Meakinose).

Besides teaching, I have many other passions! I love being outdoors. Mrs. Cote and I are avid backpackers. We even completed hiking The Appalachian Trail, which spans 14 different states, roughly 2,200 miles. This experience changed my life in many ways but the most unexpected lesson the trail taught me was mindfulness, which we will be practicing in class! I also love reading, gardening, chickens, and sports! I am looking forward to learning all about your families, interests and passions!

On Wednesday,  September 6th  between 1:00-2:00 we are hosting a "meet and greet,¨  so come check out your classroom and meet your teacher before the first day of school! I hope to see you there!

Please remember to take a look at the student supply list in the top right corner of the website.

I am very excited to work with you and your family this year! I will see you on the first day of school: Thursday, September 7th. Please, feel free to email me with any questions or just to say hello! Jcote@newburyport.k12.ma.us
