Dear Families,
We are so excited to welcome your child to the Molin Upper Elementary School! We look forward to working together with you and your child to create a positive experience in their first year in the Molin/Nock building.
Flexibility, patience, and kindness are always key as we work together. We understand that each family has unique circumstances, and we are dedicated to working with each of you to make this fourth grade year a positive experience.
Meet and Greet:
Molin staff are hosting a “Meet and Greet” event on Wednesday, September 3rd from 1:00-2:00pm. We look forward to meeting you and showing you our classroom, #107. On our first day of school: Thursday, September 4th, we will be doing lots of get-to-know-you activities and team building activities to learn how to work together. We will also spend sometime getting our school supplies organized. Please refer to the “School Supply List” tab on the Day/DeCoste website.
Google Classroom:
Google Classroom will be where we post digital assignments. It's a convenient location for us to house and view Science, Social Studies, and Writing assignments. Later in September, you’ll receive an invitation via email to be a guardian for your child’s work, view the feedback we provide, and an emailed overview of incomplete/completed assignments.
Snack/Lunch
Students will be eating snack in the classroom and lunch in the cafeteria. The four-digit code your child used in the Bresnahan cafeteria is the same number they’ll use in the Molin/Nock cafeteria.
Explore
At the Bresnahan School, your child had “Specials” classes. At the Molin School, we call them “Explore” classes. Your child will bring home a copy of the Explore rotations soon. Please see the teal tabs below for a digital link.
First Days
Over the first few weeks, we will be focusing on community building, sharing classroom procedures, practicing computer skills with our websites, and data-gathering along with an introduction to fourth grade academics. Each student will have their own locker to use. We’ll practice the locker combinations frequently to build confidence and ease of use.
We look forward to working with you and your child this year!
Thank you,
AnnMarie Day and Katherine DeCoste
