Meet your teachers!

Mr. Valli

Hello Bresnahan Parents,

I would like to introduce myself. I am Matt Valli, one of the Physical Education teachers at the Bresnahan School. Whether your child is returning for another year, or new to the school this year, I know we have a great year together ahead!

A little about myself. I graduated from Salem State University with a degree in Physical Education, I completed my student teaching here in the fall of 2016 and continued to work at the school for the remainder of the year in various positions. I have the privilege of teaching everyone in the school from preschool to 3rd grade. In addition to teaching during the week, you can also find me at the Jack Rabbit running store in Newburyport where I work as a sales associate for the past six years. I also am the head coach for the high school Cross country team.

You can often find me running the local trails, as I am currently preparing for my first marathon on September 30th. My other athletic passions include basketball, camping and chasing my two sons and dog around the yard while exploring and creating adventures!

I look forward to working with each and every one of your children. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email me at mvalli@newburyport.k12.ma.us

Sincerely,

Matt Valli

MS. Rescott

Hello Everyone!

My name is Lindsay Rescott and I am very excited to be a part of the Bresnahan team. Both teaching and the field of wellness are one of my passions and I strive to create and improve my lessons from both a holistic and standards-based approach. PE should be both functional and tons of fun for our students!

A bit about me, I graduated from Westfield State University in 2013 with a BS in Movement Science and eventually my M. Ed in 2017. I have past taught Adapted PE at CCCBSD in Beverly, MA as well as high school health and wellness in Danvers, MA. In addition to teaching PE, I am coming in my 8th season as the assistant coach for the men's volleyball team at Endicott College.

There are so many activities I find exciting and I often fill my weeks with tons of activity. I love going to the gym, horseback riding and frequenting the beach with my two newfoundlands (Evy and Chance). in 2019, I represented team USA at the Pan American Maccabi games in Mexico City as a member of the women's volleyball team. This was a wonderful experience I can bring back into my teaching and coaching. I am a lover of adventure and am looking forward to taking my passions for creativity, wellness and education to the Bresnahan community.
