Writing - Tuhituhi

We are learning to write a Character Description.

We can do this when:

• Introduce our character

• Describe the appearance

• Describe the behaviour

• Describe their likes and dislikes

• Conclude with an interesting statement

We are learning to write instructions.

We can do this when we:

• Use a title

• include a goal/purpose for the instructions

• include a list of equipment

• write step by step instructions

• include imperative verbs e.g. put, cut, mix.

• use punctuation correctly.

We are learning to write a recount.

We can do this when we:

• write an introduction with the 5W's (Who, when, where, why and what).

• Write a main body retelling the event in order.

• Write a conclusion, including how you felt or thoughts on what happened.

• Use past tense words

• Use descriptive language

• Use punctuation and full sentences.
