Classroom Management System:
The classroom management system will be composed of rewards for appropriate behavior and consequences for inappropriate behavior. I will follow the rules and guidelines that are stated in the Mid--Carolina High School handbook. Students who model appropriate behaviors will have notes sent home praising them for their good work and I will use positive reinforcement within the classroom to praise the students. Students who model inappropriate behaviors will have a series of consequences. If a student’s inappropriate behavior continues daily, then the teacher will notify the parent via telephone, a note home, or with a teacher/parent conference. The teacher may also want to establish a behavioral intervention plan for the student.
Classroom Rules/Expectations: ***Follow All Rules and Guidelines Stated in the MCHS Handbook***
Responsibility matters
Earn and give respect
Be prepared to learn
Ensure every minute counts
Listen and follow directions
Classroom Policies:
It is the student’s responsibility to complete their daily agenda/checklist by writing down what they worked on in general education classes. This will be checked weekly and will count as a homework grade.
It will be the student’s responsibility to file their work in their binders, which will be housed in the classroom. Binders will be used to show parents and IEP committee members what the student is doing in the tutorial and help determine students’ needs and progress.
Students are expected to report to their Case Manager during lunchtime Connections to complete extended time work from their regular education classes.
Itinerant students and students not enrolled in Learning Strategies during the current semester are expected to report to their Case Manager during lunchtime Connections at least once a week to check in on assignments and classwork.
