Greetings! My name is Ms. Paige Derrick. I teach 4th Grade ELA and Social Studies at Little Mountain Elementary and I will be your teacher for the 2022-23 school year! I truly love teaching and learning with my young scholars each and every day, and I am very excited about beginning this new journey with your child during my 14th year in education!
I graduated from Newberry College in 2009 with a B.S. in Elementary Education, minors in History and Communications, an education concentration in English, and an Early Childhood add-on.
I received my Gifted and Talented endorsement from Charleston Southern University in 2016. I am also happy to share that I just recently earned my Master’s degree in Instructional Technology through Gardner-Webb University in 2020.
This is my thirteenth year teaching 4th grade at Little Mountain Elementary. I am both honored and excited to be back at my very own childhood elementary school: LME!
At Little Mountain Elementary I am our school's Technology Teacher Leader (TTL). I present professional development sessions to our administration and staff. I also help to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for our teachers.
I live in Prosperity with my five sweet felines: Bastian, Fred, PNut, Teddy, & Lil Bit.
I also volunteer with Feral Cat Solutions of Chapin, Inc to help with the TNR (trap-neuter-return) and stabilization of feral cats in Newberry County.
My hobbies include reading, writing, filming and editing short movies, listening to music, dancing to ZUMBA routines, visiting historical landmarks and dressing up in historical attire for "Living History" reenactments, playing with my lovable cats, and spending time with my family and friends.
I also work part-time at Dreher Island State Park as a cashier in the Tackle Shop and a welcome attendant in the Fee Booth at the entrance. I've been coming to their park to ride my bike and go camping with family since I was a little girl, so it is wonderful to be back!
In addition, after watching the pets of friends and relatives for many years, I started pet sitting part-time on Rover.com in July of 2019. Then, I founded and opened Percy's Pet Services, LLC in 2021. My pet sitting business is also insured through Pet Sitters Associates.
