About Your Teacher

I was born a sharecropper's son on the Mississippi delta. We were poor, so at a young age I went down to the crossroads and arranged to become the best social studies teacher ever. I have now been teaching over 25 years, hold multiple credentials, and have taught nearly everything in the social studies curriculum.

I have been married for over 30 years, and my wife and I have raised three now-grown children. I and indeed my entire family are very musical, all playing instruments and performing somewhere on some level. I am Director of Music at Central United Methodist Church here in Newberry (trying to save that soul.)
