Dr. Swygert graduated from Newberry High School in 2006. In 2010, she graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology. Dr. Swygert received her Master's degree in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University. She holds a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership. Dr. Swygert is certified in Elementary Education and English to Speakers of Other Languages. She started teaching MLP at Newberry Middle School in 2013. She also took on the role of Lead MLP for the SDNC in 2022.
