This summer...
We want students to find things they are excited about, passionate about, and to explore them.
We want them to collaborate and communicate with their families, neighbors, and in other groups.
Our shared summer reading experience for students in grades K-5 is designed to encourage reading as well as to develop acceptance of individuality and foster friendships. The other pages and links here are intended to connect students to the community, their interests, and to virtual experiences they haven't yet had a chance to experience in person.
Unlike the summer of 2020, when just about everything was virtual, we have sent home a hard copy book to all of our students to read this year, along with some fun activities that can be done without the help of any technology. There is no specific district-wide requirement to practice reading online this summer. We want students to read, to explore, to solve problems, and to communicate...in the real world, as much as possible!
There are some online math and literacy opportunities linked to this site for students and families to choose to explore.
