About Graham's MakerSpace

The MakerSpace was, and is, being rolled out in phases:

I. Phase 1: LEGOs

This project was funded on DonorsChoose! Thank you to the Chevron Fuel-Your-School Program, Mr. Montoya (a teacher at Musick Elementary School), Mrs. Vanderkar (a teacher Ms. Bloom used to work with in Fremont), Ms. Mhyre (a teacher at BGI), Mrs. Park (Ms. Bloom's Master Teacher from when she was in her teaching credential program), Ms. Matsumoto (an art teacher at NMHS), Mr. and Mrs. Maynard (Ms. Bloom's best friend), and Mrs. Marzano (the librarian at Graham Elementary School).
Our Graham MakerSpace now has 21,636 building bricks (including wheels & axles) and 8 baseplates!

II. Phase 2: Engineering and craft supplies

This DonorsChoose project was funded! Thank you to Ms. Park (the Master Teacher Ms. Bloom had during her credential program at UC Berkeley), Mr. Bryant (Ms. Bloom's friend), and Macy's (who donated in honor of the Macy's at Newpark Mall)!
We could still use more supplies! Please check out our Amazon Wish List and consider donating something.

III. Phase 3: STEM Kits

LittleBits - The Graham School MakerSpace has 4 LittleBits STEAM Student Sets!

Dash and Dot Robots - The Graham MakerSpace has 1 Wonder Workshop Dash & Dot Robot Wonder Pack and two individual Dash robots. Click here to learn more about the technology in our MakerSpace.

The Dash & Dot robots are controlled by phone & tablet apps. Consider donating an iPad or another Dash & Dot compatible device.

The MakerSpace really needs (wants) Sphero robots! Consider helping us get some!

IV. Phase 4: 3D Printing

The Graham MakerSpace has an xyz Da Vinci Jr. 1.0w 3D printer. Mrs. Marzano, our amazing and wonderful librarian got it for us using Scholastic Points!
Our 3D printer prints files made on xyz's design programs: xyzMaker and xyzWare.

Organization

In order for a MakerSpace to function smoothly, it must be very well organized. Consider donating plastic storage containers.
