#73 Ronald Lewis “Ron” Anderson (1927-2002) 1986-1989

Ronald Lewis Anderson, son of Henry Anderson and Gladys Strong, was born October 9, 1927 in Tama, Tama County, Iowa. He was a 1945 graduate of Tama High School. He served as a sergeant in the U. S. Army following which he married Marilyn Bent, daughter of Warren Bent and Mildred Weaver, on June 26, 1950 in Tama.

Mr. Anderson worked in a Tama furniture store for about three years then obtained employment through Iowa Electric Light and Power Company. The power company transferred him several times, from Tama to Iowa Falls to Chariton and finally to Nevada in 1969. Mr. Anderson was the commercial manager for Iowa Electric in Nevada retiring in 1984.

Following his retirement, he served as mayor of Nevada from 1986 to 1990. He was active in veterans and community organizations.

Ronald Lewis Anderson died on November 19, 2002 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. He was survived by his wife and three sons.
