The Nevada Winter Volleyball Club has been providing AAU volleyball to the Nevada community for many years! Varsity head coach Abby Stephenson was an athlete in the program from 7th grade through high school and was also on the coaching staff during college. The 'hard' deadline for local registration is December 15, but the big state-wide registration for tournaments is December 11.
PLEASE register by December 10 so we will know how many kids we'll have playing on each team. Our hard deadline is always after our parent meeting, and it is very late this year due to scheduling issues.
The 2026 schedules are complete for grades 5-8.
Please print this out and put it in a prominent place. We spread practices all over depending on gym space.

5th grade - November 30 from 1-3pm, HS gym
6th grade - December 1 from 7:30-9:15 am, HS gym
7th/8th grade - December 14 from 4-6 pm, MS gym
Parent/Athlete Meeting (grades 5-8)
December 14 from 6-7 pm, MS Commons
Registration deadlines:
December 10 - soft deadline so we know numbers
December 15 - hard deadline so you can submit payment and have questions answered at the parent meeting
Things to do to register your daughter for the 2026 AAU season:
1. Join Remind . Please have the athlete and at least one parent join.
2. Order a jersey or Nevada AAU apparel - Our online store has Nevada AAU t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, shorts, and more! (HS girls, the store has already closed.)
If you don't want to buy a jersey, ask around town. There are lots of used jerseys out there since we've used the same style for several years.
Other clothing requirements:
-athletic tennis shoes (not designer tennies like Air Forces)
-knee pads (black or white preferred)
-black bottoms (spandex shorts, soccer-length or running-length shorts or black leggings)
3. Be sure to register for the National AAU Organization before you register for the Nevada Winter Volleyball Club. You will need the national AAU number on the registration form for NWVB.
Registering with AAU provides insurance for our local tournaments and is a requirement for all athletes playing AAU tournaments in Iowa. We are not able to provide financial assistance for this ($22), and you'll need a credit card to register.

Nevada Winter Volleyball Club is organized and directed by the high school coaching staff, but it is a separate entity from the Nevada Community School District. We invite all Nevada girls from grades 5-11 to participate, and we use school facilities, but we operate within the Iowa/USA AAU (Amateur Athletic Union of the United States, Inc.) program.
