In her spare time she enjoys playing flute with the Four State Symphonic Winds, spending time with her cat, Rahjah, and finding ways to make the band experience even better for her students. She is active as an adjudicator at the district and state level for band events. She also currently serves as the Southwest Missouri Music Educators Association Junior High Band Vice President.
Her professional affiliations include Missouri Music Educators Association, Missouri Bandmasters Association, and Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Service Fraternity.
