Nevada adult education

Enrollment for the 2023-24 Nevada AEL HiSET classes has closed. Enrollment for the Missouri AEL online program is open. If you are interested in online classes visit: https://molearns.com/

Enrollment for the Nevada AEL 2024-25 classes will resume in August. Orientation and enrollment sessions are held on a Monday and Tuesday at 9AM each day. You must attend both days to complete the orientation, enrollment and placement testing process. Once you have completed this process, the attendance requirement is 6 hours per week. Call 417-448-2090 enter Ext 2246 if prompted or ask for Adult Education to reserve a seat. 

Nevada AEL is located in Room 202 at NRTC  900 W. Ashland.

High School Equivalency Preparation 

HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCE (HSE)

High School Equivalency (HSE) classes are for those students who do not have a high school diploma and want classes to help prepare for the HiSET® test. Students will use the Paxen HiSET Prep book series and HiSET Academy to study math, language, reading, social studies, and science. Students who have a device with internet capabilities may also access the HiSET Academy lessons outside the classroom as long as they are reporting to the classroom on a weekly basis.

Students who already have a high school diploma may attend HSE classes to improve basic reading, writing, and math skills. Students will use various instructional books, materials, TABE Academy, and other resources to study math, language, and reading. Students who have a device with internet capabilities may also access the TABE Academy lessons outside the classroom as long as they are reporting to the classroom on a weekly basis. 

Registration will open in August and will be ongoing throughout the school year as seats become available since class sizes are limited.  Typically enrollment and orientation will be held the last Monday and Tuesday of the month.

Classes are held in Room 202 at the Nevada Regional Technical Center (NRTC) 900 W. Ashland St. in Nevada. Once you arrive for class you are expected to remain in the classroom and on task. 

Note: Smoking, vaping and the use of tobacco products is explicitly prohibited on the NRTC Campus and Nevada R-5 property.
