Netflix Animation Early Creative Programs

The Netflix Animation Early Creative Program is a 4-month full-time paid opportunity for emerging storyboard and visual development creatives. Trainees are embedded in production with assigned mentor, receiving hands-on learning experience to level up their skills and prepare them for entry-level artist roles across all content verticals (Adult, Series, and Features). Upon completion of the Program, trainees are considered for available longer-term positions within production. While the goal of the program is to promote trainees into longer-term storyboard, revisionists, and/or art roles, this is not guaranteed.

Candidates will be notified once they are officially being considered for an interview with a specific production.

Program Eligibility

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

Be over 18 years of age to participate.
Be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship (both during and upon completion of the program).
Have less than 12 months of professional experience in any form of Animation Art (Series, Feature, Gaming, Web, or Commercial).
A Portfolio that demonstrates a strong understanding of visual storytelling and design fundamentals.
Must be available to work full time during the 4 month program period with the potential to extend beyond the 4 month period.

A college degree or advanced education is not required for these opportunities.

Application Timeline

Calls for submission for both Story and Art will typically occur on a yearly basis. Openings in the Program are based on production schedules, which mean start dates will vary from year to year.

Where are the programs located?

We have several locations in the Hollywood/Burbank area. Location will be dependent on where the production is based. Currently, Netlfix Animation Studio is in a work from home schedule until further notice.

Yes, we encourage you to reapply every year to be reconsidered for our Early Creative Program.

If I applied to the program how long will it take before I hear back on my status?

Recruiting for Netflix Animation Program can happen over several months. We ask for your patience as we complete the review process. You will hear from us either way!

Will I receive feedback on my submission?

Due to the high volume of applicants, we are unable to provide feedback on submitted materials.

Is the Early Creative program a paid position?

Yes, our program offers a full-time, paid position.

Is this an internship?

No, these opportunities are full-time positions. You must be available to work full time during the 4 month program period, with the potential to extend beyond the 4 month period.

Will I need to relocate to Los Angeles if selected?
