AIM Team Priorities

As Netflix continues to grow and establish ourselves as a global streaming leader, it is critical to our success that we are able to support rapid product innovation that will enable Netflix to differentiate ourselves from our emerging competition. AIM teams build their roadmaps to balance investments across each of these areas. Not every team's investment strategy is the same, and the strategies can change from quarter-to-quarter.

ACCELERATE product innovation by efficiently delivering product features and designing or refactoring systems to enable more rapid development. What do we need to do to make our systems better and to address the current needs of the Netflix business? Activities that fall into this category include strategic initiatives, partner projects, and long-tail/backlog projects.

INNOVATE with partners to prevent, detect and mitigate threats to our members, their privacy, and Netflix content assets. What do we need to address the future needs of the Netflix business? Activities that fall into this category include innovation and aspirational work, exploring adjacencies, and building new paradigms.

MAINTAIN high standards of system availability, scalability, resilience, performance and observability. What do we need to keep our existing systems maintained and secure? Activities that fall into this category include operations, reliability, technical debt reduction.
