RTI stands for Response to Intervention.
It’s a way our school helps make sure every child gets the support they need to grow as a learner. Teachers use regular assessments to see how students are doing in reading and math. Based on the results, students may receive extra help in small groups (called intervention) so they can practice specific skills. I provide this support to our students!
What do we use for reading intervention?
UFLI (University of Florida Literacy Institute) is a program that helps children become strong, confident readers by teaching them how sounds and letters work together. It uses a step-by-step approach to phonics—helping students learn to read words by sounding them out, spelling them, and practicing fluency. Lessons are engaging and hands-on, giving children many chances to practice and build skills they’ll use every day in reading and writing.
Math Intervention Tools We Use
To give students the best support in math, we use a combination of programs that target their individual needs. iReady helps us identify each child’s strengths and areas for growth through assessments and personalized practice. IXL gives students extra practice with math skills at their own pace, using fun, interactive questions. Savaas provides a strong curriculum foundation and additional resources for small-group intervention. Together, these tools allow us to track progress, give targeted support, and build confidence in math.
