Matej Kavčič

Matej Kavčič is a partner and a cofounder of the Law firm Kavčič, Bračun & Partners, o.p., d.o.o. Matej has extensive knowledge and experience in competition law (began his career at CPA and has worked in renowned firms before establishing his own law firm). He has been involved as a lead lawyer in the majority of antitrust and significant merger control cases in Slovenia and has represented major domestic and international clients from various industry sectors in the last seventeen years in CPA, EC and civil litigation procedures.

Matej has participated also in many transactions in the field of mergers and acquisitions of companies and in the privatization processes, where he represented the interests of both buying and selling parties as well as the interests of target companies. He regularly advises the clients on corporate, real estate and commercial issues and is representing them before courts and regulatory bodies.

Matej is also a founding member of Competition Section of Slovenian Bar Association. Among other things, he regularly lectures at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana and attends both domestic and foreign internationally recognized conferences.
