This is my 8th year at Nest+m! I love that every year of school is a little bit different; every year--every class--is a chance to do better.
ELA is all about building up your skills so you can be a better historian, scientist, mathematician, artist, citizen--a better thinker. If that sounds like a lot, don't worry! We'll break it down step-by-step.
There's something for everyone in ELA. Science-minded students and activists will love doing research about real-world issues. Historians and future politicians will get fired up about our social studies collaborations. Philosophical minds and empathetic hearts will rise to the challenge of our literary analysis lessons. Creative students will stretch their minds for every book report--and our narrative/mythology unit. This isn't your average ELA class.
The most important skills I can teach you may not have much to do with reading and writing. If you leave my classroom a more honest, compassionate and logical person, my work is done.
That's me in 6th grade (a rare shot with short hair!)
