As someone with younger siblings doing the IGCSE course, I often help them out with topics they find tricky, which lets me revisit old material and gives me useful experience teaching others. I’m confident I can guide younger students in using the right study methods and answering techniques to help them get top grades too. I’m also happy to share my old notes and resources to support their revision.
I have 2 siblings which I tutor often. I am regularly entrusted with the important task of explaining concepts and topics during class lessons. I have an incredible amount of patience.
I have a lot of patience and am extremely flexible in the way I explain and 'teach' things to suit different personalities and perspectives. I also have really good communication skills and can encourage/motivate my peers while staying professional.
I'm patient and organised which will help me answer any questions the tutee(s) may have. I already have my own system I prefer for studying, which I will implement during the sessions, like using slideshows, flashcards, practice questions, etc. As well as this, I'm continuing with Biology and Chemistry at AS level (ensuring my memory of the content is still intact) and still speak French casually with family so I'm still confident with the language.
I have a strong commitment to supporting others. Through tutoring my siblings and leading school assemblies on study skills, I have developed communication and mentoring experience. I bring positivity and dedication to the peer-to-peer program.
