Enrichment/GT Program

The goal of Noelani’s Gifted and Talented Program is to embed all six General Learners Outcomes in the Learning process. The instructional delivery system will be project-based learning supported by technology. Students will be challenged to develop their intellectual abilities, talents, creativity and self-esteem.

Project based learning will immerse students in challenging real world scenarios that connect personal interests, academic pursuits, usually within the context of life and work beyond school walls. Students involved in projects learn to investigate topics in depth and to communicate their findings to others. The learning targets are clear and thus the students will know what they need to aim for, by employing a variety of learning strategies, and formative assessment tools to accomplish their task. The structure of this learning environment fosters the need for students to become collaborators, critical thinkers, problem-solvers, self-assessors, effective communicators, and proficient technology users. The ultimate goal is for all students to achieve high standards, enabling them to grow and become critical thinkers who can solve problems, productive citizens who can work with others, independent curiosity seeks who can take charge of their own learning, confident self-believers who can recognize and produce quality work with excellent technological and communication skills.
