Scarlet Sound will start off the new year with a performance at the Neptune High School's Choral Concert on January 11th in the Atrium of the PAC at Neptune High School at 6:30pm! Free admission! Please come and support us as we kick off the New Year together.

Bayonne High School will be hosting the Mid-Atlantic Quarter-Finals this year.
A lot has changed in the last few years for Scarlet Sound! Graduating members have moved forward and up in their careers and/or collegiate adventures. Scarlet Sound is now under the direction of Neptune High School's new choral director Erin Radvanski. And we have welcomed many new members to our group!
The school year thus far has been an exciting one! We have once again been invited to compete in the ICHSA Competition run by Varsity Vocals. We will be competing on February 3, 2024 at Bayonne High School in the Mid-Atlantic Region Quarterfinals.
We were once again welcomed back as performers at the Ocean Grove Homeowners Association's Annual Holiday Brunch. It is one of our favorite events we do each year and look forward to the welcoming environment and incredible food.
We also had the incredible opportunity to perform along side GRAMMY®-nominated jazz pianist/composer/ arranger David Benoit, as the featured choir at his "A Christmas Tribute to Charlie Brown" concert at The Vogel in Red Bank, NJ on December 6th.

Scarlet Sound finished off its competitive season very strong. At the Music in the Parks festival on May 13, Scarlet Sound earned the Best Overall Choir award, and Jianne Santillan took home the award for Outstanding Vocalist. On June 2, Scarlet Sound participated in its fifth-straight NJ State Teen Arts Festival at Middlesex College. The ensemble earned Distinguished ratings across the board, and the adjudicators shouted out Jianne Santillan, Eric Jones, Marie-Anne Jean, Marbella Morrell, Candace Howe, and Rachel Hunter. Scarlet Sound enters the summer break with high hopes for the 2022/2023 season!
Scarlet Sound has had an eventful couple of weeks. Here's what you've missed!
-Scarlet Sound's ICHSA Season came to an end in the semifinal round at Northern Highlands High School on March 26. Despite a strong performance, Scarlet Sound wasn't able to crack to the top 3 places for a shot at the Finals in NYC. Congratulations to Ram Jams for representing the Mid-Atlantic this year!
-A week after the semifinal at Northern Highlands, Scarlet Sound was back for the Highlands A Cappella Festival. Thanks to Mr. Paster and Highlands A Cappella for having us!
-Scarlet Sound has been nominated to a fifth-straight NJ State Teen Arts Festival, which will take place at Middlesex College on June 1.
-Finally, Scarlet Sound will participate in the Music in the Parks Festival at Dorney Park on May 13.
Scarlet Sound will be advancing to the ICHSA semifinal round for the third year in a row, this time via a first-place finish in the quarterfinal round. Scarlet Sound's set of "Honeymoon Avenue", "Out My Mind", and "deja vu" garnered high marks from the judges, and brought home Scarlet Sounds' first-ever award for Outstanding Choreography. Additionally, junior Candace Howe won the Outstanding Soloist award for her rendition of "deja vu." Scarlet Sound will compete in the semifinal round on March 26 at Northern Highlands Regional High School.
Scarlet Sound has been accepted as a competitor in the International Competition of High School A Cappella for the 6th year in a row. Scarlet Sound will compete in AND HOST the ICHSA Mid-Atlantic Quarterfinal Round on Saturday, February 5th, 2022. Tickets can be found here.
Scarlet Sound is fully back for in-person rehearsals and performances after a year and half of remote and hybrid rehearsals and performances. Throughout the past 18 months, Scarlet Sound earned its second ICHSA semi-final placement and its fourth nomination to the NJ State Teen Arts Festival.
Scarlet Sound will be competing in the semi-final round of the ICHSA for the first time. On Saturday, February 1, Scarlet Sound competed in the quarter-final round against 8 other groups from New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The competition set, consisting of arrangements of "Feelin Good," "Rise," and "None of This Has Been About You" was deemed outstanding enough for a second-place finish behind Stay Tuned from Cherry Hill East. In the current ICHSA format, the top two groups in each quarter-final earn a trip to the semi-final round. Additionally, senior Breaiah Bristow was awarded an Outstanding Soloist award for her performance of "Feelin' Good." Scarlet Sound will compete again in the ICHSA on Saturday, April 4 in Allendale, NJ.
Scarlet Sound has once again been chosen by Disney Performing Arts Onstage to perform at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL. In April of 2020, Scarlet Sound, along with the NHS Marching Band, will travel to Disney World and will perform in Disney Springs. The group will also get to spend time in EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Magic Kingdom.
Scarlet Sound once again brought home top ratings and a first-place trophy, this time from the Music in the Parks Festival held at Hersheypark. On Friday, May 10, Scarlet Sound once again performed its competition set, including choreography, at Middletown Area Middle School. The following day, the students spent the day in Hersheypark, and later attended the festival awards ceremony. At the end of the day, Scarlet Sound came home with the trophy for Top Vocal Ensemble in its group, in addition to the trophy for Top Overall Vocal Ensemble.
