About care & connect
CARE & CONNECT is the class in which your daughter will spend the first 30 minutes of her day. During this time, through small groups, we focus on CONNECTing with one another, providing a time to show CARE, and CREATING the community we desire. Some activities your daughter might engage in include: small group discussion, FUTURE STORY PREP, team building, service opportunities, and celebrating each other's successes. This year we will continue to grow our garden and work to Bloom Where We are Planted.
About WORLD HISTORY
This course will challenge students to explore as historians. World History and AP students will practice and develop historical thinking skills and reasoning processes on a regular basis over the span of the course. Making CONNECTions between the larger world around them and the impact in their own local COMMUNITY.
WHAT MUST WE CREATE?
I love challenging my students to learn, think and reason for themselves, not just memorize. My job is to incite curiosity as we explore content of World History, but my goal is that each of my students will gain a better understanding of themselves and how they want to leave their own mark in their communities. Throughout our exploration, students will discover different cultures, religions and viewpoints that will broaden their own perspectives and foster a deeper level of tolerance. Students will learn to think like a historian, as we focus on strategies to analyze historical documents, evaluate competing claims, make connections by finding patterns across time, all culminating to students formulating their own arguments and supporting it with credible evidence.
