Holiday Assistance: Thanksgiving & Christmas
With the help of several community partners, FRYSC was able to assist 51 families with Thanksgiving meals and 50 plus families with Christmas Holiday Assistance. Thank you to all of our community partners who make this possible each year!
Family Resource partnered with PTO to host the Cookies with Santa event. Free coats and books were given away by FRYSC.
Family Resource partnered with Operation Warm to provide 120 coats for the Neighborly FRC Center. FRC set up during Cookies with Santa to provide these free coats to student who needed them.
We are so thankful for all our Bulldogs and their families. Making memories is the best part of family time here at the Creek!
FRYSC teamed up with Tri County United Way to sponsor the 5th grade field trip to Biztown Louisville. Students had to complete lesson plans that taught them real life skills for the future. Students then interviewed for various jobs, in which they then had to work at completing payroll, issuing citations, and purchasing items within their budgets.
Big Smiles continues to service students during the school day in the building so that students do not have to miss a day of school. Students receive dental cleanings, fillings, and extended dental work. Big Smiles has been scheduled to come back throughout the year and is already scheduled for the 24-25 Spring Session. If you would like to sign your student up please contact Family Resource. If you previously signed your student up for services, but would no longer like to be seen, please contact Family Resource as the permission form is good for 18 months of services from date of initial signature from guardian.
Red Ribbon Week Activities: Trick or Treating & Poster Contest
Family Resource started a new program this year to provide warm fall/winter clothing to students who needed extra support before the holiday season. This program provided 46 kids with 2 outfits, a pair of shoes, and a spirit wear hoodie. Family Resource partnered with community members who sponsored the students and brought the items to the center to be distributed. Family Resource plans on providing this service 2 times a year as long as community members are willing to partner with FRYSC to serve our community.

If so, we wanted to let you know that there are resources and programs out there that can help support you. Our Caregiver Support Conference was created to do just that! We held our 3rd annual Caregiver Support Conference September 21st. This is a relaxed and stress-free setting where we can share resources and programs available to our Nelson County families.

Family Resource was able to secure enough books to celebrate each student for their birthday this year by providing a free book to every student.
Family Resource Coached the K/1 split Lady Bulldogs in their first year every playing basketball. Coach Jessica has been coaching at Cox's Creek since 2021. Watching these kiddos shine on the court and grow their love of basketball was bitter sweet as the season ended. Way to go Lady Bulldogs! (not pictured Malaysia Fulks)
Family Resource Coached the 5th Grade Lady Bulldogs into the Semi-Finals this year. Coach Jessica has been coaching since these girls were in 2nd grade. It was bitter sweet to see their season come to an amazing end! We will continue to be their biggest fans next year watching them from the stands!
Family Resource joined in on the Bulldog Spirit and coached Cheerleading this year along with Coach Brashear. Watching our Bulldogs shine on and off the court has been amazing! Go Lady Bulldogs!
Over 600 in attendance this year for the Grand Event. Grands and their students enjoyed an ice cream social, along with a picture frame and rock painting craft. Family Resource provided a photo booth for some memory making, along with a picture frame craft.
Nelson County School's 3rd Annual Back to School Bash was held on August 3rd, 11 am - 2 pm at Old Kentucky Home Middle School. This event is provided by the Nelson County School's FRYSC team and is separate from back-to-school bashes at each individual school.

CCES Family Resource have teamed up with the Administration Team to provide incentives for early registration students. Students who's class completes registration by April 19th with 100% will receive a popsicle party from Family Resource. The first grade level class in each grade with 100% will receive a Pizza Party. The first class to hit 100% registration from each grade level will win their teacher an extra planning from FRYSC. One lucky student will be drawn for an Amazon Fire Tablet.

Bulldog Community Read kicked off their book reveal on January 26th. Students, Staff, Guardians, and Community will partake in a book reading frenzy over the next month and a half reading Charlotte's Web. There will be activities throughout the month of February and March that lead students on a fun-filled journey to see how Charlotte and WIlbur impact their community. There will then be a family movie night on March 15th - Charlotte's Web, with a rain date of March 22nd.
FRYSC collaborated with several community partners to provide Thanksgiving Food Baskets, Christmas Food Baskets, and Holiday clothing & gifts for multiple Nelson County Families across the district. Nelson County Staff worked together with several community partners to provide meals for families during Nelson County Schools shutdown days. Family Resource met with staff to make and deliver meals, along with 5 pick-up locations throughout the district.

FRYSC set up a booth to join in the Fall Pride Games. Some even joined the Kick Ball Tournament. Families were welcome to stop in and get information on all things FRYSC and students could win a cold treat and get some face paint spirit wear.
Family Resource hosted the GRAND Event in which GRAND's were invited to come and share a fun-filled evening of activities with their loved ones. Hand painting, Interviews, Photo Frame & Pictures, along with an Ice Cream Social. Fun was had by all who attended.

Family Resource is continuing to build a caregiver group within our community to better support non-traditional families. Bulldog Community Read kicked off their book reveal on February 17th. Students, Staff, Guardians, and Community will partake in a book reading frenzy over the next month and a half reading Ranger In Time Rescue on the Oregon Trail. There will be activities throughout the month of February and March that leads students on a fun-filled journey to see how Ranger impacts his community. There will then be a family movie night on March 24th - A Dog's Way Home.
5th grade visited Wickland where they performed a historical dance for their audience members. Students also gave speeches over various historical events that occured during these times.
FRYSC Elective consists of students from 3rd-5th Grade that signed up for the Bulldog Community Leader Elective. In this Elective students will learn how their small contributions to their community make a HUGE impact for others. Students will hold multiple donation drives for such programs as Holiday Food Assistance, Bulldog Food Pantry, Hygiene Items, and needed items for a local Animal Shelter.

Every year FRYSC partners with several community partners and staff to provide supplemental holiday assistance. This year FRYSC also partnered with the House Leaders (student Elective Course ) to collect items to provide Holiday Stockings Families in need.

Remix Education brought the wild and fun education setting for students to enjoy. FRYSC provided an adult Substance Abuse Education Night. And Staff got to enjoy make your own Caramel Apples provided by FRYSC.

Our newest Bulldogs were invited to come spend time with our current Kindergartener's and Teachers for a meet and greet welcoming visit. On the eve of the visit our new Bulldogs had Kindergarten Registration and fun activities in the building.

Stand Up For Children: April Child Abuse Awareness Month
Students, Teachers, and Community Partners enjoyed reading The Wild Robot and watching The Iron Giant.
Students and Staff decorated the CCES float and enjoyed spending a night out celebrating with friends and family.
