PE/Health Instructor (K-5)
WELCOME TO Health and PE Class!
It's not just PE!
The purpose of each student having physical education and health is to help nurture the 4 components of health - physical, intelectual, emotional, and social well being. If we want to impact our society it is a MUST that students are taught all these components of health. I think this is one of the most important classes your child will have and need to be able to live and interact within our world.
Student Leadership
Here at BES we build in-class, virtual, and community experiences on three main goals: deeper learning, caretaking, and literacy. Place-based experiences produce an engagement that opens the door to deeper learning and understanding. We can reinforce that learning with literary experiences and also promote literary expression to share those adventures. And as we become more engaged with the community around us, we become more invested and interested in caring for the community and what it has to offer--students at the elementary age to become LEADERS and advocates for the four components of health (Social, Intellectual, Emotional, and Physical) well being. Thus, making making it a better world for all of us!
MEET THE TEACHER
Angie Lewis - PE & Health Instructor
As your PE and Health instructor at BES, you will find that I am very passionate about student health and well-being. I think it is very important for students to be up and moving to get their blood circulating and all their body systems working. It is just as important for students to know acceptable ways to channel their thoughts and behaviors and how to deal with their emotions. All of this will help to foster complete well being. Let's get moving!
A little info about me
I grew up in Chaplin and went to school at Chaplin Elementary. We were the Chaplin Eagles. Then went to Bloomfield Middle School and graduated with honors from Nelson County High School. I knew in third grade that I wanted to make a difference and be a teacher. After high school I graduated from Saint Catherine College and later from Campbellsville University. I later got my Masters Degree at Western University. I started teaching at Chaplin Elementary. Then when Chaplin and Eli Brown merged to create Bloomfield Elementary I started there and have been there ever since. This is my home and I truly love everything about it! It means so much to me that I could be taught through this school system and then that I am able to give back to Nelson County Schools and my community by teaching here now. I also love that I am able to send my children to the same wonderful schools that I went to. I absolutely love the People, the Place, and this is my Purpose.
