Introducing Nekoosa School District's "CADFABLAB" — the very first of its kind!
Our two CADFABLABs are state-of-the-art facilities designed to immerse students in the world of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Additive Manufacturing. Equipped with individual workstations, each featuring a high-speed, large-format 3D printer and powerful CAD software, our lab enables students to move seamlessly from concept to production—all at their own desks.
In the CADFABLAB, students experience every step of product development firsthand, from designing detailed models on their computer screens to watching their creations take shape layer by layer on the printer bed. This unique setup gives each student their own "mini-factory," empowering them to test ideas, iterate designs, and bring prototypes to life with professional-grade resources.
Our CADFABLABs, in our high school and middle school, feature Bambulab X1Carbon 3D printers at each workstation (45 Bambulab X1 Carbon printers are available for student use across the district).
Whether developing prototypes for in class assignments or designing solutions for future innovations, the CADFABLAB provides hands-on experience that builds technical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities—preparing students for careers in engineering, manufacturing, and beyond.
