The mission of adult education and literacy is to ensure that all adults who live in Texas have the skills necessary to function effectively in their personal and family lives, in the work place, and in the community.

NEISD Adult Education offers FREE English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for students 19 years and older, as well as High School Equivalency (HSE) preparation classes in English and in Spanish for students 16 years and older.

Additionally, NEISD Adult Education, in partnership with NEISD Community Education, offers Career Training Programs which lead to Workforce Certifications.

ESL (English as a Second Language)

From basic English to Speech & Writing classes, we can help you improve your listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Classes are held twice a week in the morning and evening. Click here to go to the registration page.
HSE (High School Equivalency)
HSE (High School Equivalency)
Now is the time to get your High School Equivalency certificate, your stepping stone to a better job or college admission. Classes are available in English and Spanish. Click here to go to the registration page.
These classes are available to students who are enrolled in the ESL or HSE programs.
Citizenship
Citizenship
For our students who have recently come to the USA or who want to follow the path to citizenship, this extra class focuses on the English and general knowledge necessary to pass the citizenship exam.
Digital Literacy
Digital Literacy
The Digital Literacy class includes online distance learning as well as teacher support to help our students master basic computer skills, as well as programs and operating systems.
Financial Literacy
Financial Literacy
In the Financial Literacy class, our students learn to manage bank accounts, understand credit and loans, make budgets and more.
Career Training Programs - Career Navigator
Career Training Programs - Career Navigator
IET Classes prepare students for a specific job, including dental assistant, pharmacy technician, medical billing and coding specialist, and some trades. Please contact the Career Navigator at NEISD Adult Education for more information.
