Mrs. Nicholas's Classroom Website
Welcome to my website! This is a place to learn more about me and the classes I teach at Negaunee Middle School and High School. Click on your class link below.
I grew up near Minneapolis, Minnesota but have since lived in several areas of the midwest. I attended college at Minnesota State University Moorhead where I graduated with a degree in Secondary English Education in 2004. Then, I moved to Menomonie, Wisconsin where I taught seventh grade language arts for nine years. In search of a new adventure, my husband and I moved to Ishpeming, Michigan in 2016 where I substitute taught in the area for two years. I finally landed my dream job as an English teacher at Negaunee Middle School and High School and am so proud to be a Miner!
I became a teacher because I love learning, and I want to instill a love of learning in the youth of future generations. I strongly believe that EVERY child can learn, and I work tirelessly to make sure I use a variety of teaching methods, address real-life topics, and make learning engaging. I love my job and am so excited to start every school year learning and growing with a new group of students.
My husband, Jason, and I have been married for 17 years. We have three boys: Eli (12), Jasper (10), and Tommy (7). We also have two dogs: Oscar and Howard. We live in Ishpeming, but we open-enroll our kids in Negaunee schools.
I am energetic, meticulous, easy to talk to, and I love to stay busy! In my spare time, I enjoy hitting the beach at Lake Superior searching for agates, playing with my dogs, adventuring with my family, hiking, fly fishing, gardening, and playing softball. I love traveling the world, learning new things, and meeting new people.
