Because of his dad's job relocation, he and his family were forced to move to the US. This move took place going into his freshman year of high school where he moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was forced to leave his friends back in Genoa and to feel a strong culture shock as he was an incoming freshman to a whole new country. Luckily enough, he was fluent in English which made the transition a whole lot easier. But, when asked about any struggles he stated, "One tough thing that I was forced to adjust to was the teaching styles. Before coming to the US the quizzes and tests were mainly focused on memorization and remembering things word for word, compared to here where it is a lot of applying your knowledge that you learn, which at the time of moving here it was something I found difficult adjusting to". Even though he found the transition easier than he had originally intended, there were things like the food and his old friends which he left behind that he couldn't get back, but immediately he connected his current life with his love for soccer and immediately joined the high school team. However, he did not last long in Massachusetts and moved once again to Bethlehem Pennsylvania.
