VR stands for virtual reality and it is a toy/tool that is worn on your head. Let's dive into the components and mechanisms that power VR headsets, exploring their benefits and potential challenges along the way.

2. Screens and Lenses: To ensure a realistic VR experience, screens and lenses play a crucial role. By distorting and overlapping two nearly identical images, they create the desired spatial effect, enhancing immersion

Latency and Frame Rate: Latency, or the delay between a user's action and the corresponding reaction in the virtual environment, along with frame rate, significantly impact the perceived realism of VR. Achieving the optimal frame rate (usually around 90 frames per second) is crucial to prevent motion sickness and maintain immersion.

4. Position Tracking: Tracking the user's movements in space is essential for a truly immersive VR experience. Modern VR systems often employ 6 degrees of freedom (6DoF) tracking, allowing users to move freely and interact naturally within the virtual environment.

Now going back to my experience with VR headsets, I first used a VR headset years ago when it was still new to the market (around 2016) and I remember the model being a 2016 HTC Vive. I also remember that when I was using it there were various scenarios that I was watching like me on top of a building, going on a roller coaster, getting chased by dinosaurs. I also remember there was also screen mirroring so whatever the person was looking at who had the VR headset on was mirrored on a nearby monitor screen. I really enjoyed it and I thought it was one of the most futuristic things I have ever seen. I recommend everyone at least to try some form of VR out because it is an extremely fun experience.
