Studying is challenging for everyone; it can be stressful and messy. However, with the use of an online application called Quizlet you can have confidence in your studying and see the tangible results. Quizlet is both an app and a website that provides learning tools for students, including flashcards with study and game modes. You start by creating your own study sets with terms and definitions and you can copy and paste work from outside resources.

Anyone can create a quizlet to study from in 7 simple steps:

  1. Log in to your account or create an account.

  2. Select Create.

  3. Enter a title for your set.

  4. Add a term in the first column.

  5. Add a definition in the second column.

  6. Select Choose language under the term and definition, if needed.

  7. Select Create to save and publish your set.

If you study on a Quizlet there are 8 different modes you can practice and work with the content. The first mode is called learn. This is a combination of multiple choice, flashcards, and open response questions which is a useful starting point or quick refresher. The next mode is the classic flashcard which is very good to practice if you can recall the information. The writing mode is good for English vocab and studying for a Foreign language as it gives you a lot of repetition. Then you have spell which I find most useful for Foreign language as you hear the word then have to write it correctly. There are also three game modes. The first is match, where you match the term and the definition. Another game mode is gravity, where you try to prevent asteroids from hitting your planet by getting the correct answer. Lastly Quizlet Live is a team game where you work together to match the terms and definitions the quickest.

Quizlet has many benefits as it helps students prepare for tests. With the engaging study tools and differentiation options available, you have so many different ways to study information. Instead of having to look through notes, fill out worksheets, and create paper flashcards, you can just log in and start studying anywhere you have internet access! On top of that, if you have a mobile device, you can download the Quizlet app to review information anytime, anywhere. That means you will have more flexibility to study what you want, when you want.
