Edison Today

Edison has continued his love for gymnastics through coaching and has been a coach for 14 years. He joined Exxcel Gymnastics in 2014 where he earned his way to Head Coach, now training the girls on elite Levels 8-10.

Ever since he came to Exxcel, he has been my coach and one of the biggest influences in my life. Considering the fact that I spend more time with Edison than with my own parents, I would not be where I am today or who I am today without him. He started with me in Level 5 and has brought me all the way to Level 10, and the bond that we have made throughout the years will stay with me for life.

Not only is Edison an amazing coach, but he is an amazing person as well - one of the main reasons why he is such a good coach - and I cannot express how grateful I am for the 2003 World Championships being in America because, without his trip to Anaheim, I would not be the person I am today.

In addition to coaching, Edison also helps his wife run Milena's Beauty Salon in Chelsea, Massachusetts. He helps her with the business side of the company since his English is a little bit better than hers.

Edison has now encouraged others from his country to make the move to America and has helped many of his friends become situated. He came here to build a better life for himself and his family which is exactly what he has done. Edison's immigration story is an inspiring one and one that perfectly showcases his remarkable personality.

Jorge Hugo Giraldo is a 3-time Olympian and was one of Edison's teammates and best friends growing up. Edison helped Jorge make the move to the United States after the 2012 Olympics and landed him a coaching job alongside him at Exxcel. Many of Edison's friends from Colombia were motivated to move to Massachusetts because of him and he made sure to help each and every one of them with their immigration process.
