Children's Grief Awareness Day

Today we celebrated Children’s Grief Awareness Day. The purpose of this day is to call attention to the issue of children’s grief, not to any particular child or children who have suffered a loss. Here at Mount Wolf, we want a

Kids-Helping-Kids focus. We want children to feel they can support their peers and friends who are going through difficult life experiences with grief and loss.

Your child decorated a blue butterfly today to share a way they can help someone feel better who may be sad. Consider taking a minute to talk with your child about the meaning of grief. Talk with them about how we explore grief and consider accessing the link below and create a virtual butterfly in the butterfly garden on the HOPE webpage. Grief itself is not “fun,” but there are ways that helping each other can be meaningful and often enjoyable for everyone.

If your child is struggling with the death of a loved one, please reach out for resources and support.
